This event is being held as a fundraiser for the Young Adults in Church group trip.  

THROUGH TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7: FR. HUBBARD IS ON MEDICAL LEAVE. Fr. Greg Bezilla (609.240.1554) will be on call for pastoral emergencies.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5: MANY THANKS TO THE ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE for organizing last Sunday's Annual Meeting.  

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5: TODAY'S FINAL ADULT FORUM PRESENTATION ON MISSION AND EVANGELISM IS at 9:30 a.m.
in the Nicholas Room. Today's program features Chizoba Nwankwo, who will present a talk on the Diocesan Millenium Development Goals. Next Sunday, February 12, begins a three-part series from the Parish History Task Force. First up, our archivist Fernanda Perrone will lead a presentation on "Slavery and Christ Church."  

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5:
AGAPE FELLOWSHIP GROUPS will have a reunion and opportunity to discuss what might be next today at 12:15 p.m. in the Ross Room. See Molly Newling for more information.  

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11: YOUTH TRIP TO SEE THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS!
An exciting day trip has been scheduled for Saturday, February 11th, to see the critically-acclaimed exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls at New York's Discovery Times Square. This trip is open to members of the Rite-13, J2A and YAC groups, and is scheduled to leave Christ Church at 11:30 a.m. The trip price is $30 and includes lunch in New York. Please speak to a youth leader for more details and to obtain a permission slip. Scholarships available for students who need financial assistance to attend. Please speak to or contact Julia Der Bedrosian or Andrea Hawkins if you need assistance.  

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12:
THE NORTHERN NEW JERSEY CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN HARP SOCIETY will present a Harp Ensemble concert at Christ Church at 4 o'clock p.m. This will be a rare opportunity to see not one, but many harps, playing in ensemble in our chancel. If you look closely, you will see that one of the harpists is our Director of Music, John Sheridan! Hope to see you there. Suggested donation $15.  

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 IS ASH WEDNESDAY.
Services will be at 7 a.m. and 12 noon at Christ Church, and at 7:30 p.m. in a joint service with and at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New and Kirkpatrick Streets. Ashes and communion will be available at all services.  

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25: IN SEARCH OF THE LIVING WATER: A CONTEMPLATIVE RETREAT.
Join other Christ Church parishioners from 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as we explore contemplative spirituality; led by Seminarian Ali Van Kuiken. This workshop is free and open to all. Sign up by contacting Ali Van Kuiken (in person or by e-mail: ali.vankuiken@gmail.com). The retreat will take place in the Auditorium. Bring a bag lunch or eat lunch at a local restaurant. Come and learn from our very rich Christian tradition.  

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25: MUSIC AT CHRIST CHURCH AND THE CHRIST  CHURCH BLACK HERITAGE COMMITTEE
are proud to present the 2012 Black Heritage Celebration Program: The Spiritual Bach, with Marvin Mills, organist, and Marlissa Hudson, soprano. Program at 4 o'clock p.m. Tickets $15 adults. Tickets are available from Committee members after all services and in the Parish Office. Click here for more information.   

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26: BLACK HERITAGE SUNDAY.
Our preacher for this day will be the Rev. Martisha Dwyer, Emergency Room and Community Chaplain at Robert Wood University Hospital, New Brunswick. Rev. Dwyer, a resident of Piscataway, was ordained at Tabernacle Baptist Church, New Brunswick last June.  She will graduate from New Brunswick Theological Seminary this coming Spring. She is involved in many community projects in our many, including the forthcoming interfaith-sponsored transitional housing which will benefit some of the men who come to the overflow capacities of the Ozanam Men's Shelter.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26:  ECUMENICAL LENTEN PROGRAM.
Christ Church will be part of an ecumenical Lenten program: "Christian Responses to Food Scarcity". It will be held Sunday evenings in Lent, with a simple supper at 6 p.m., evening devotions at 6:45 p.m., and the program from 7-8 p.m. The first session will be at Canterbury House, 5 Mine Street (off College Ave.) on Sunday, February 26. Prof. Jacqueline Lapsley of Princeton Theological Seminary will speak on "Food in the Old Testament" to give us a biblical and theological grounding in God's perspective on food before we wrestle with the current issues involving food locally and around the world. Please contact Fr. Hubbard for more details or to sign up.

WEEKLY PUBLICATION DEADLINES: Please keep in mind that information you would like included in our weekly publications needs to be submitted in a timely fashion so our Parish Administrator has enough time to edit. For printed Parish Notes, the deadline is Wednesday at 11 a.m.; for the weekly e-mail blast, please submit by Thursday at noon. Thank you for your cooperation.

        The Christ Church cookbook, Christ Church Cooks, is now available for purchase for $20 each from the parish office or from me (chiznwan@ yahoo.com).  

     The cookbooks are being sold as a fundraiser for the church and so the Special Events and Fundraising Committee thanks you all in advance for your support and for your purchases.

        Thank you once again to everyone who contributed recipes; to all who helped with collecting and collating the recipes and especially to Julia Der Bedrosian for designing the cookbook cover and for helping with printing the cookbooks.

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED to host Coffee Hour after the 10 a.m. service. Please sign up on the sheet posted on the door of the Nicholas Room. A convenient and cheaper way to host Coffee Hour is to co-host with one or more other families. For additional information about Coffee Hour, please call Marie Thompson at 732.828.4830.
